<p>Wengen shares its ski area with Grindelwald, both dominated by the Eiger and the Jungfrau. It can only be reached by a cog railway from Lauterbrunnen, which then continues up the mountain as the main ski lift. There is lots of alpine charm, the traditional look of the village has been maintained, and, like Zermatt, the centre is completely traffic free.</p>
