A firm favourite with visitors for well over a decade and, as of 2022, our full-time home for The Ski Gathering! Chalet Chery has a perfect blend of alpine charm with modern facilities, spacious rooms yet with a cosy feel, and an ideal location for exploring the vast Portes du Soleil.

Our guests always enjoy the convivial open-plan living/dining area and it is easy to unwind by watching a DVD or some satellite television on the large flat-screen TV. Alternatively, why not relax those aching legs in the big ground floor sauna! No expense has been spared on the beautiful furnishings and, as the exertions of the day catch up with you, the soothing effect of the magnificent log-burning stove will do nothing to fend off the temptation to have a nap before our hosts serve up a delicious 4 course meal! The top floor of the chalet boasts a peaceful den area with extra seating and a second television, making it the ideal spot to read a book, catch up with some work courtesy of our free WiFi internet access, or to simply banish the kids when grown-ups want to enjoy their meal in peace!

Chalet Chery accommodates up to 16 people in:

• 2 x triple rooms
• 1 x twin room
• 2 x quad rooms

 

All five bedrooms boast traditional Savoyard decor to give a perfect blend of homeliness, cosiness and ensuite facilities (either in the form of a traditional bathroom or a cabin-style wet room with showers). The bedrooms are spread over all three floors of the chalet and in stark contrast to most recently constructed chalets they are all exceptionally spacious. The larger rooms still contain only full size single beds and with bedside tables for everyone. When sharing these larger rooms nobody needs worry about bunks, sofa beds or pull-out beds! We understand how important personal space is and the need for a comfortable night's sleep in order to make the most of the next day.

Our cuisine follows a simple philosophy; Hearty meals carefully prepared with fresh local produce

Sylvie, like most Belgians, is passionate about good food and has an excellent palate. She has put this to good use in order to create a menu which is a perfect blend of British, Belgian and Savoyard cuisine. The local specialities such as traditional Tartiflette or a classic French Onion Soup are an important part of our menus, but you will also discover some out of the ordinary dishes such as our Speculoos (caramelised biscuit) Tiramisu or the ‘Carbonades flamandes' (Belgian beef stew), interspersed with comforting British classics such as apple crumble and chicken pie. This is all washed down with free-flowing red and white wine (or a beer if you prefer!)

No meal would be complete without cheese and biscuits and a glass of port! We cook on 5 nights each week and our hosts have 2 days off. On the 5 evenings that we provide dinner we also invite you to join us for "Apero Hour" where our hosts will offer a different drink each day. We like to mix things up but don't be surprised to be offered a Kir Royale, a Bombardino, a G&T or perhaps a glass of Pastis!
