- If you might choose our chalet, you might take any advantage of the following concise informations and suggestions.
- Please find free WIFI in chalet 'Le Chainon' by wich you can surf around at your own PC/ laptop.
- The Tourist Office in the mainstreet of Montana ( (Avenue de la Gare, near the Postoffice where you also can retire CHF or EURO outside the building) provides any kind of touristinformation.
- Skiers are advised to start up at Barzettes (about 2,5 KM by car, direction Montana). Here you will find a big parking. The telecabine to Les Violettes brings you up to 2300 meters above sea level, and from there furtheron to the Plaine Morte glacier (3000 meters above sea level; superb panorama 360 o, facing the Mont Blanc massif, Matterhorn....etc etc,). Magnificent sunny slopes, overall not very heavy (red ones).
- All slopes of the skiing areas of Montana Crans and Aminona are well connected to each other. However, please notice to return at the end of the afternoon to the initial startingpoint, to prevend a busride or taxi to your carpark!
- The village of Bluche offers a litte grocery (selling also fresh bread), near the funiculaire stop (little cable-cartrain Sierre- Montana. In Montana Crans there are plenty of well provided supermarkets (closing usually at 18.30 H) and all kinds of other shops, cafes and restaurants and nightclubs. There you also find exquisite patiseries/tearooms Taillens (centre of Montana) and Gerber (between Montana and Crans).
- In Bluche you also find a cosy local cafe-restaurant 'Auberge Le Petit Paradis'. Frequented by locals as welll as by international and cosmopolitic public (tourists and world-wide students from 'Ecole des Roches", a famous Swiss Hotel Management school). Please don't forget to reserve your table! Fine fondues, steaks and local wines and spirits. Reasonable prices.
- In case of health problems or casualties, you might visit local doctors (and dentist) in Montana Crans. If necessary and urgent, you migt immediately drive to the Sierre or Sion hospitals (15 - 25 minutes by car, both well signalized along the roadside),
- In case of motor break-down, you can call or adress Garage 'Du Nord' in Montana-Village, (Renault dealer Fam Bagnoud, about 0,8 KM downhill, along the roadside to Sierre-Chermignon. Also day/night fuel selfservice.
- Golfingsaison usually opens in Mai and lasts until the end of Octobre. The Golf Club de Crans wellcomes guestplayers for competitions of several level; golfers from all over the world participating, (including closing prizedistributions with drinks and amuses afterward).
- Each first week of September, the Club is hosting the worldfamous Swiss Open - European Masters on the exquisite and demanding Seve Ballesteros' course! Nearby, you find the 9 Holes Jack Niklaus course, also very attractive and chalenging. These courses were labeled by golfers press as the No 1 and No 3 of finest Swiss golfcourses!
- some really nice 18 holes near Sierre, Sion and Leuk (direction of Brig), all about 0,5 Hr maximum by car. Reasonable greenfees and clubhouses with good-local dishes.
- Gallo-Roman heritage, nice old streets and squares, weekly market etc.
- Montreux - Lord Byron was here...- , Evian). Geneva and its International Airport Geneva-Cointrin will take about 2 Hrs highway by car (or by train from Sierre, line Milano - Brig - Geneva).
